Most of the colourful engines from Thomas' Friends exist already for Railworks (as downloadable freeware), just in case you're not already aware of their existence. A direct link would probably be inappropriate here because of sensitive licensing issues. But a Google search with Railworks & Sodor, and you should be able to find a few things of interest!;)Would sure be nice (& good fun for many age generations) if a route recreating the Island could be built for TS. I strongly suspect it's a project DTG might be keen to do, should they one day be able to secure a mutually agreeable licensing agreement. So finger's crossed this is possible, sooner rather than later. All the best.
Contents HistorySI3D was founded around January 2009, when MSTNoodle removed his Trainz content from the UKBL web. With no other Trainz Thomas sites, SI3D was launched, with their first model being James.
They produced Trainz 2006 content until July 2010, when they switched to Trainz 2009, featuring the 'baked' look on the engines. After almost 3 years, they began the 2010 range, which featured metallic paint, steam generating whistles, and eye direction. Their last 2010 model was Percy, and in November 2013, they switched again to Trainz 2012. These were the same only they were a bit larger and featured 3D faces. In December 2015, they started making CGI variants of the 2012 models as well. They resumed their Railway Series models in September 2016.
Currently, their Island of Sodor Route runs from Knapford to Kellsthorpe with the full Ffarquar and Brendam branch as well. They also have A RWS route of the Ffarquar Branch from Knapford to the harbor. After alleged 'lack of respect' to staff by the community, SI3D was shut down on January 27, 2018. A user on Deviantart named had leaked some old 2010 Trainz Content, and when people told him that it would cause trouble and resulting in the staff finding out about it, he would insult and cuss at them. The post has now been taken down, but the user didn't learn his lesson. In the middle of October 2018, Sodor Island 3D returned, but it wasn't the real website.
Instead, it's actually a remake when the staff created the site and claims that it is SI3D. This website was created by NickBoggia1, a rather strange person who has been in the fandom since 2010, the bootleg site created by him has been a bit controversial within the trainz community, considering Nickboggia1 did not get permission to reupload the models, and has been taunting people who said that the site was fake, and even got into an argument with Sean himself, the bootleg site has a few members, who simply defend it, recently the website has been removed. Sean made a simply to say that the website was a fake.
